THE STRETTON VALLEY
The Stretton Valley lies astride the Stretton Fault, with the sedimentary rocks of the Long Mynd to the West, and the ancient volcanic rocks of the Stretton Hills and The Wrekin to the East. The Cound Brook rises in Carding Mill Valley and flows northwards along the Valley before joining the River Severn just south of Wroxeter. Church Stretton is the only town in the valley, and is a popular tourist destination for walking in the hills.
